Céleste is a finalist for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Travel!

26th April 2018

Every year, the British Travel and Hospitality Hall of Fame “recognises the highest achievers in the travel, hospitality, tourism and leisure sectors” during a beautiful evening attended by all the biggest players in the travel industry.

One of the awards given on that night is the Young Entrepreneur of the Year, acknowledging “the passion and drive behind an entrepreneur”, who must be aged 35 years or younger. Previous winners include Chris Loughlin of Travelzoo, Cheapflights’ Hugo Burge and Attraction Tickets Direct’s Oliver Brendon.

And this year, it so happens that our Turtle CEO Céleste has been shortlisted for the award, along with some incredible travel entrepreneurs:

It all started with a pleasant surprise when Céleste received an email by Jacobs Media Group (Europe’s largest Travel & Hospitality B2B media company & organizer of the event) a few weeks back saying that she had been nominated for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. She asked by whom but they wouldn’t tell.. So if you read this, mysterious nominator, thank you!

Céleste then had to write a short paper outlining the story behind Live2Leave and the achievements of the business to date. Our turtle CEO was subsequently called in for interviews with Daniel Hourton, CEO of Jacobs Media Group, and Harry Hastings, CEO of Ocean Holidays and 2016 winner of the Young Entrepreneur Award.

The winner will be announced during a big gala dinner on April 30 at the Dorchester, in London (by the way, the hotel has a really cool bar recommended on the app…).

This is a big recognition for the Live2Leave team, less than a year after the app was made available on the App Store. And it’s a lot thanks to your unfailing support!

And because we wanted to thank you and make sure we always take your feedback into account, we also released today a brand new version of our website and app!!! Make sure to download it now!
