Taking you on a weekend trip in Lisbon

Bom dia Turtles,

Today we take you to one of our favourite cities in Europe, Lisbon

Not only does this vibrant city offer the remarkable advantage of good weather throughout the year, it is also bursting with incredible eateries, trendy bars and a strong art scene that will leave you overwhelmed with possibilities.

Luckily our super-travellers scouted the city to bring you only the best of the best. So all that is left for you to do is to pack your suitcase and go!

– Explore the city –

Getting arty at Berardo Collection Museum

@Toti

“The best museum in Lisbon, only a few steps away from the Pasteis de Belém and the Jerónimo Monastry. It also has a lovely outdoor restaurant (probably one of the best in the area). The art is modern/contemporary and there are really cool special exhibits, including photography and sculptures.”

Trendy Shopping in Bario Alto

@Toti

Trendy neighbourhood in the centre of Lisbon, great for shopping

National Treasures at Jeronimos Monastery

@Toti

UNESCO heritage site. Don’t stand in the queue, walk 200m to the archaeology museum & buy your ticket there. It’ll save you about an hour!

Day trip to Sintra

@Faridbre

It is one of the finest tourist attractions of Portugal and it’s just half an hour away from Lisbon

– Tasty break –

The real deal at Pasteis de Belem

@Jana

“Pasteis de nata to die for – don’t queue for takeaway, go inside and grab a table. The service is pretty efficient. Order a few of these bad boys and a coffee (which is good too).”

Endless options at Mercado da Ribeira

@Mayu

For those who can’t decide which type of food to eat: come to this market and the whole group will be happy!

– One drink. Or Two. –

Park Rooftop

@Emanueledego

Rooftop bar accessed through a car park (took me quite a bit to find it). Fun atmosphere and incredible views!

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

@AnnSo

“Such a cool disco/bar open until 2. Great music, delicious cocktails and unbelievably friendly prices! Dangerous for your alcohol consumption”

– Gourmets o’clock –

Portuguese Classics at Bairro do Avillez

@TravelFitz

Great Portuguese tapas in the Taberna brought to you by one of the great Portuguese Chefs, José Avillez. Would have loved to try out the Pateo too but we didn’t have the time.

Seafood at Cervejaria Ramiro

@Marisa

Cervejaria Ramiro, a classic in Lisbon for great seafood. Come early/book as there is always a queue”

– Rest your head before starting again –

The Independente Hostels & Suites

@EmanueleDego

The Independente Suites are incredibly cool with their high ceilings and vintage furniture and the hotel’s breakfast on the top floor overlooking Lisbon is superlative.

Palacete Chafariz D'El Rei & Suites

@OliviaR

Old school hotel with GREAT breakfast!”
