The Other Side Of The French Riviera

18th July 2018 Destinations
Dearest Turtles,
What better place to start our summer series than the Côte D’Azur, or French Riviera?
We are not talking  Champagne showers on the beach here, quite the opposite in fact. This week we celebrate all the simple things that make this part of the World truly unique: the subtle smell of the pine trees, the mesmerising sparkle of the Mediterranean Sea and the relentless sound of the cicadas…
With the help of our community, we take you on a tour to discover the hidden gems of this incredible region.
Breath in and relax Turtles, for summer has officially started!

A Day In Ramatuelle

The Village

@Céleste
“One of the prettiest Provençal villages. Go there at the golden hour to enjoy the view on the vineyards and a nice glass of rosé.”

La Cabane Bambou

@Céleste
“Hippie chic restaurant at the end of Pamplonne beach, 10-minute drive from Saint Tropez. “Simple mais raffiné”, as I like to put it. Really lovely atmosphere – definitely go there for lunch and a lazy afternoon at the beach!”

Provencal Gastronomy At Its Best

Le Pescadou in Gassin

@zoejessicad
“Le Pescadou is the perfect restaurant on the front in Gassin for a tasty fish meal with a beautiful backdrop.”

La Grange des Agapes in Cogolin

@Lea
“Step away from the busy restaurants of Saint Tropez to find not just peace and quiet but also serious deliciousness in this gem of a place. Fine dining in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere, for a much welcome break from the party crowds!”

Across The Sea To The Golden Islands

Baie de Port Man in Port-Cros

@CactusOne
“Baie de Port Man in Port-Cros is just beautiful. Words won’t make it justice – just go (with a couple of bottles of rosé) and enjoy the sunset, calm and nature.”

Le Manoir in Port-Cros

@Celeste
“Magical & secret old Provençal hotel and restaurant on the protected tiny island of Port-Cros… very few of those places left on earth.. shhhh…. we paddled there for dinner (after the engine of our tiny dingy failed to start) and had a magical night.”

The Island of Porquerolles

@Celeste
 “Take a stroll on the beautiful island of Porquerolles, and rent bikes if you can!”

Le Radeau Plage

@Marine
“Le Pradeau Plage is a restaurant by the sea, in front of the Island of Porquerolles, so the view is sensational. And guess what? The food is absolutely delicious (seafood and best café gourmand EVER), the waiters love a good chat, highly recommended!”

Contemporary Art Under The Pine Trees

Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence

@oliviaroussel
“Fondation Maeght, paradisiac outdoor and indoor museum.”

Fondation Carmignac on Porquerolles

@annsobib
“Beautiful international collection of contemporary art in an incredible setting which used to be le domaine de la Courtade. Lovely walk up from the harbour in nature.”
