Our Favourite London Pubs

Winter is coming, time to cosy up

It’s this time of the year again?

As a fresher air quietly settles over Nothern Europe, our London turtles start putting their summer gear away and getting ready for the cold winter months. Unfortunately hibernating is not an option for many of us, and binging on Netflix until “Sierra Burgess is a loser” is the last movie remaining on your playlist does seem a bit extreme. So we thought we’d anticipate any rising anxiety and curate for you the perfect list of London pubs, to either drink, eat or socialise away your winter blues.

Enjoy without moderation, when it’s so good it simply can’t hurt.

The Albion - Islington

“Simply love the Albion. A great terrace in the summer, super cosy interiors for the winter, a great roast and lots of hearty pub classics. What’s not to love?”

The Duke - Clerkenwell

“Art Deco interior design…a mood reminiscent of Neville Chamberlain and sardines on toast…as authentic, beautiful and period a pub as you’ll get in London. Try a hardcore real ale. Listen up for air raid sirens.”

The Abingdon - Kensington

“The best sticky toffee pudding in London! This gastro pub is simply amazing. The food, the setting, the atmosphere and the small terrasse on a quite road. Classical with a chic touch.”

The Pig and Butcher - Islington

“Classic pub lunch – exactly where you want to be on a chilled Saturday afternoon with friends. The food is epic, order the refreshing pale ale as an accompaniment!!”

Mr Fogg's Residence - Mayfair

“Fantastic bar – I was about to type “pub” – but this is a touch more sophisticated. Quite a gem in Mayfair, the walls are covered with “bizarreries” from Jules Verne’s character Phileas Fogg. The only thing: you MUST book in advance (the bouncer is pretty strict).”

The Orange Public House & Hotel - Pimlico

“My favourite London gastropub. If you go for the pizza, you will not be disappointed.”

The Cow Pub & Dining Room - Notting Hill

“Greatest fish stew in London”

The Anchor & Hope

“This is a delicious gastro pub / restaurant by Southwark, one of my favourites. Their menu is classic, locally sourced and changed weekly. Delicious!”

Phoenix - Sloane Square

“Lovely Pub near Sloane Square, Really good food and cosy interiors. One of those pubs that don’t feel like one.”

The Holly Bush - Hampstead

“Cosy traditional pub for a nice ale after a walk on Hampstead Heath”
